More from the road!

It seems we have had a lot of time on the road and we have to fill it with something. One way is movies!!
The latest one we watched as a band was The Wrestler. Wow...Great flick! This one is a must see
for everyone. Kinda sentimental and ever since I saw Marisa Tomei in My Cousin Vinny, I have wanted to
see her naked. Well, I got my wish with and not just a quick flash either. Another movie we watched was Run Ronnie Run with David Cross. This movie sucked. I love David Cross but this movie gave me
short term daim bramage. I really think I have lost some IQ points forever. But If you ever get the chance to hear David
Cross do his stand up, it's a must. Alright, if you have any movie suggestions for us, leave a comment.
A couple quick notes: Jake (our bass player) is about to have is first baby with his wife Amy!! Love and prayers to their family. We are talking any minute...So we might have a guest player come and play with us next weekend. Alex Weeden has volunteered to
come play guitar in Jake's absence and Cale will cover the bass!! Check website for updates. Our new single, Put that ring back
on your finger
, is currently number 10 on the Texas music chart. Should move up this week. Check Monday for the new chart that our friend
Katie Key puts together. Last thing and kind of a funny story. We had our valentines show moved from Lubbock to San Angelo because
Tesla wanted our date at Wild West. Yes, the 80's rock band Tesla. We never thought we would be able to say we get bumped for TESLA.
See you down the road!

Robert Plant and his asscrack

OK so here is the best story of my Steamboat adventure. The last night I'm there, I decided to take it a little easy. I went and worked out, sat in the steam room and swam in the heated outdoor pool. I was feeling a little guilty about parting every night so a good workout cured that and I headed to meet Anne and the girls for a round of drinks. Bob Mitchell, our radio promoter, called and said he would like to meet up also. We had a nice little table in the hotel bar, sorta prime real estate in the Grand. Heavy in the gossip of the girls latest drama, Bob and I were saved by Drew Brown and Jack Ingram stopping by to say hello. The girls were speechless for the first time all week. It was great to see Drew and Jack. Finally some man talk. They stayed just a few Minutes, we said our goodbyes and it was back to girl talk which was primarily about how good Jack looked. I guess Jack was not ready to call it a night so he showed back up and had a seat with us. Hearing Bob and Jack talk about old Sony record days was really cool. I've had some Indy Record deals but have little knowledge of the majors so it was real cool to hear them talk. The beers started to flow and a couple shots of jack Daniels(of course) helped with the conversation. I guess everyone was feeling groovy and really enjoying the company. Then Jack tells his CMA story of how he was sitting behind Robert Plant(yes, the Robert Plant)and when Robert went to sit down, he had the biggest plumbers butt crack showing!! Jack demonstrated and showed exactly how it happened by pulling down his jeans a little to reveal his own ass-crack. You should seen how red the girls faces turned. I thought they might pass out. Little did Jack know that little display of his buttocks would be the story of the night for the girls. Bragging to all of their friends. Though the ladies told me that he has a nice hinney, he has scared me for life. Every time a Led Zepellin songs comes on, I have this mental flash of Robert Plants Ass Crack and then I have another flash of Jacks too. That's pretty much not what you want flowing through your mind while rocking out to Zepellin. Anyway, I've heard enough Led Zepellin to last me the rest of my life. Just gotta stay away from the Classic Rock stations for awhile. So that's my story, hope you liked it. See you soon
P.S Jack is one of my favs. so its ok that he spoiled Led Zepellin for me.

Steamboat!! ouch my head still hurts.

Once again its time to recover from the Steamboat party. What a good time. Lets start with the night before I leave. I showed up at my friend Russ's house to watch the Longhorns defeat the Ohio State buckeyes. Russ and I defeated a bottle of Crown reserve, we figured that we would tie one on for a good night sleep. 5am came quick and we still were a little drunk. I was not in the mood for a hangover so we stopped at 7-11 for some big-gulps to spike with more crown. I forgot to mention that it's Russ's private jet that we are taking to Steamboat so we can take the drinks with us. Boarded the plane, leather seats and music rockin', we're on our way. Only seven people rode up with us. Russ, Ritchie, Matt, Howie, Breann, Jake(crazy Cajun that I could not understand) and the pilot, Mike. Because its morning, Ritchie makes bloody mary's for everyone. Sounded like a good idea at the time until we hit Clear Air Turbulence(official name for holy shit). WE HIT SOME SERIOUS TURBULENCE. The kind that made me think about Buddy Holly and the Big Bopper. Everyone tossed there Bloodys in the air. It was raining Tomato Juice from the ceiling. Russ was cool and didn't get to worried about the jet. I guess if you own a jet, you're not the one who cleans it. Did I mention that it was snowing at the airport?? Yea, we landed just in time. The snow really started to fall as soon as we landed. We poured ourselves out the plane, drunk and covered in Tomato juice. Time to Check-in to the Grand. More to come later, late night hotel shows and Robert Plants ass-crack.

Heading back home

Guess what?
I'm back in O'Hare airport...Made it to my show in Traverse City, MI. Had a great time and actually won 200 bucks at blackjack. The local radio station there has been playing our new record for weeks and their listeners seem to like it. They don't get americana music up in that area. Thanks to Dano from WLDR 101.9 and thanks to Lidsey and her husband for bring me toothpaste and a toothbrush. They were listening to the morning show when I called in and was complaining about my luggage being in Traverse city and me being stuck without a toothbrush in north Chicago. That was very thoughtful.
I almost forgot, there we actually HB fans at the show!!! Ron and Sam caught a show in Austin two years ago and have been listening to HB ever since. That's a good feeling when you can fly to Northern Michigan and have people requesting songs.
Got to go... Hope my flight is not canceled again.
Thanks for all the blog comments, they brought smiles.

United Airlines Suck

I'm on my way to Traverse City, Michigan with hopes of getting to the casino a little early!! I planned on losing some cash tonight but United Airlines decided to save me some money and keep me in the O'Hare Airport for 6 hours. By the time I get to Traverse city I will have had all the Starbucks and peanut M&Ms I can handle. I think I am gonna get drunk. I always wanted to be the guy they throw of the plane and send to a hotel to sleep it off. Maybe I'll just stay in Chicago tonight and go to Joes bar on Weed Street and say hi to Ed the owner.
So I got drunk and missed my plane. United changed terminals on me and decided not to tell me. They changed the gate from f2 to b22. If you have ever been in the O'Hare airport you would know that it takes 25 mins to walk that distance and 15 mins to run. I had 12 mins to get to the right gate. I ran as fast as I could, lungs burning, heart pumping, legs shaking only to find that I missed the plane by 3 mins.
Stuck in Chicago!!! Shit. Take a cab to Northbrook and stay at the Radisson. Thank god the Hotel bar stayed open an extra hour for me!! What a day!! 8 hours in the O'Hare airport and I have to go again tomorrow. United Airlines suck.

Oklahoma, Kansas, and Paris

Hope this blog finds you well. Our hearts go out to everyone who was affected by Ike. We are headed up to Stillwater, OK as I type this. It’s been a while since we played in Stillwater. The name of the club is the Copper Penny. Next, we drive to Manhattan, KS to Play a show with Kevin Fowler at the Longhorn Saloon. First time in the joint for the HB. Then we drive to Paris, TX for our last show of the weekend at Crosswire. Should be a good weekend of shows. I’ll let you know!!

Little shake up in the band, Stephen our drummer for over a year, is now attending law school at St. Mary’s in San Antonio. We are very fortunate to pick our new drummer, Mike Henretty. Mike has been in the Scene for quite awhile. He has played with Drew Womack, Jack Ingram, and most recently with Brandon Ryder. Mike brings tons of experience and awesome grove to the band. If you have the chance, walk up and welcome him into the band.

Mile by Mile continues to get over 1000 radio spins/week just in Texas. The next single, Put That Ring Back On Your Finger, will be released later this year. With such great success with MBM, Ring should move up the charts with lighting speed. Thank you for all the calls made to your local radio stations requesting MBM.

South Texas seems to like our New CD as well. We had close to 500 people at Schroeder Hall last weekend. That is the most people we have had in Victoria. Thanks to JR and Anne Hudson at Kicks 108 in Victoria for pumping up the show.
